Q: Is there an age limit for personal accident insurance?

A: Yes, there is an age limit. Individuals over 18 and under 65 can purchase personal accident insurance.

Q: What does personal accident insurance cover?

Q: When did the Treasury Undersecretariat’s changes to comprehensive insurance come into effect? ​​Which policies will these changes cover? A: They came into effect as of April 1, 2013. The changes will cover policies issued after April 1, 2013. Renewals for existing policies will be issued to reflect these changes upon expiration. Q: The policy does not include the insured value? How will damage payments be made? A: The market value of the vehicle will be used as the basis for determining the premium and damage payments. Therefore, insurance companies must clearly state on the policy how they determined the market value and what they used as a reference. Q: If the policy does not specify the reference institution for the market value, how will the claim be paid? A: If, for any reason, the reference institution for the market value is not specified, the claim will be paid according to the market value list published by the Insurance Association of Turkey. Q: Which institutions can be used as references in determining market values? A: The Insurance Association of Turkey, websites where car purchases and sales take place, car markets, car dealerships, dealers, or related organizations can be used as references. Q: How will the market value of vehicles be determined? A: Some insurance companies will use the insurance value list published by the Insurance Association of Turkey as the basis, while others will determine the market value based on the average of the prices they receive from websites, dealerships, and car agencies. Q: What are the insurance products and coverages included in the new policy? C: The coverages included in comprehensive insurance are as follows:
  • Collision between the vehicle and motorized or non-motorized vehicles operating on roads or railways,
  • Accidents such as the vehicle being struck by a fixed or mobile object, or the vehicle striking such an object, overturning, falling, or rolling over, due to sudden and external forces, whether in motion or stationary, beyond the will of the insured or the driver,
  • Damage caused by the malicious or malicious actions of third parties or by persons lacking legal capacity,
  • Burning of the vehicle,
  • Theft or attempted theft of the vehicle or its parts.
With the new policy, starting April 1, 2013, insurance companies will issue four different policies under the names “narrow comprehensive insurance, comprehensive insurance, extended comprehensive insurance, and full comprehensive insurance”:
  • Narrow comprehensive insurance Casco: This product provides coverage for some of the above coverage groups.
  • Casco: This product provides coverage for all of the above coverage groups.
  • Extended Casco: This product provides coverage for all of the above coverage groups and some of the risks that can be included in the scope of coverage with an additional agreement in these general terms and conditions.
  • Full Casco: This product provides coverage for all of the above coverage groups and all risks that can be included in the scope of coverage with an additional agreement in these general terms and conditions.
Q: Why should I get travel health insurance? A: Travel insurance is an insurance policy that covers the insured’s risks, such as accidents, injuries, and health problems, during international travel, within a predetermined timeframe, within selected limits. Q: When should I get travel health insurance? A: Travel health insurance must be obtained before the trip begins. A policy cannot be issued, plans cannot be changed, or extensions cannot be requested after the trip has begun. All procedures related to the insurance policy must be completed before the trip begins.
Q: Can I get coverage for damage to my car under my traffic insurance policy? A: Traffic insurance only covers bodily harm and property damage caused to other vehicles and people involved in an accident. Car Insurance covers damage to our vehicle. Q: What are the coverages of compulsory traffic insurance? A: Financial expenses per vehicle and accident, medical expenses per person and accident, and injury and death per person and accident. Q: Does traffic insurance cover my medical expenses resulting from an accident? A: Traffic insurance covers bodily harm and property damage caused to the other party. Q: Why might the traffic insurance premium for commercial taxis be higher than the premium for cars? A: Premiums are determined individually based on the total damages and premiums for each vehicle type, and each company’s premium may vary. Therefore, it would be incorrect to generalize that commercial taxi premiums are higher than those for cars. Q: Does Traffic Insurance cover non-pecuniary damages? A: Traffic Insurance does not cover non-pecuniary damages. Q: Does whether or not a motor vehicle is involved in an accident affect the Traffic Insurance premium? A: Yes, it does. Insurance companies apply no-claims discounts or premium increases according to the tiers and rates specified in the Traffic Insurance Tariffs and Instructions. For those entering the road for the first time as an operator, the fourth tier premium is applied. Q: If a lawsuit is filed against the insured, are these expenses covered by traffic insurance? A: Yes. Litigation costs and attorney fees are covered by the traffic insurance policy, subject to policy limits. If the insured is not at fault for the damage and a lawsuit is still filed, traffic insurance also covers these costs. Q: At what stage are policies issued for vehicles first registered on the road? A: For vehicles first registered (0 km or newly registered), policies are issued at the stage where no premium increases or discounts are applied. Q: Are traffic insurance premiums the same across all companies? A: Traffic insurance premiums are determined freely by each insurance company. Q: 15 days have passed since my vehicle’s registration date. Will I pay an increased premium because the day has passed? A: No increased premium will be charged for up to 30 days from the registration date. A 5% premium increase applies for every 30 days that pass. The late payment penalty is limited to 50%. Q: I sold my vehicle. Can my traffic insurance policy be transferred to a new buyer? A: In traffic policies, the policy does not transfer to the new buyer when the vehicle is sold. The vehicle owner cancels their existing policy and receives a refund of the premium for the remaining days. The new buyer has a new policy issued in their name based on the vehicle’s registration date. Q: Someone hit and ran my car while it was parked in front of my house. What should I do?
